Your email address, and nothing else
This website collects personal data in one place: the form to get jvinu updates by email. This page says what we keep, why, who handles it, how long it stays, and your rights — under the GDPR in Europe, US state laws, China’s PIPL and the other privacy laws around the world.
Last updated October 15, 2026.
Only if you ask
We keep your email address only when you sign up for updates and confirm it.
Never sold
No advertising, no tracking pixels, no selling or sharing for ads. Ever.
Gone when you leave
Unsubscribe from any email in one click, and your address is deleted.
Who is responsible
Bitwize Development SRL decides how your data is used: the “controller” under the GDPR, the “personal information handler” under China’s PIPL and the “business” under US state laws. For anything on this page, write to [email protected].

What we keep
- Your email address, when you sign up for updates.
- A record of your consent: which wording you agreed to, when, and when you confirmed it from your inbox — so we can show you said yes.
- The page you signed up from, to know which page brought you.
- A scrambled form of your IP address (a one-way hash) in a counter that limits how often the form can be sent, to stop abuse. We never see or keep the address itself here, and the counter is deleted within a day.
- Server logs our web host keeps for a short time to run and secure the site, which include IP addresses.
We don’t use analytics, advertising or tracking. Our emails have no open or click tracking. The settings this site keeps in your browser are listed on the cookies page; none of them is sent to us.
Why, and on what legal basis
- Sending you jvinu updates — release news, new providers, jvinu Cloud. Basis: your consent (GDPR art. 6(1)(a); PIPL art. 13(1); LGPD art. 7(I); express consent under Canada’s CASL). You can withdraw it at any time; that doesn’t affect what happened before.
- Keeping proof of consent and stopping abuse of the form. Basis: our legitimate interest in a safe service and in meeting legal duties (GDPR art. 6(1)(c) and (f)), or the equivalent ground where you live.
When you sign up you tick two boxes. They read: “Send me jvinu release news by email. I can unsubscribe at any time.” and “I agree that my email address is stored and sent by the service providers named in the privacy policy, including outside my country (in the EU and the US).” Then we email you a link, and only once you follow it are you on the list (“double opt-in”). We make no automated decisions about you and build no profile.
Who else handles it
These companies process the data for us, under contracts that let them use it only to provide their service to us. We don’t sell your data, or share it for advertising, with anyone.
Supabase, Inc.
Database: stores the list, consent records and the rate-limit counters.
USA; data stored in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden)
Resend, Inc.
Sends the confirmation and update emails and keeps the mailing list.
USA; sends from the EU (Ireland)
Our web host
Serves this website and keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses.
Where the site is served from
We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.
Across borders
Your address may be stored and processed outside your country, including in the European Union and the United States. Transfers out of the EU, UK and Switzerland rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and the UK addendum) in our providers’ data processing agreements. For transfers out of China we ask for your separate consent — the second box on the form — as the PIPL requires. Write to us for a copy of the safeguards.
How long we keep it
- A sign-up you don’t confirm: deleted after 7 days.
- Your address and consent record: until you unsubscribe, ask us to delete them, mark our email as spam, or the address stops existing (a permanent bounce). Then both are deleted, from our database and from our email provider, within minutes.
- The rate-limit counter: deleted within 24 hours.
- Server logs: as long as our web host keeps them, typically a few weeks.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you and give you a copy, in a portable format;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict or stop using it, or object to how we use it;
- withdraw your consent — every update email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address.
Write to [email protected] from the address concerned, so we know it’s you. We answer within one month (45 days where US law allows it) and for free. Using your rights never costs you anything or changes how we treat you. You can also complain to your data-protection authority.
Where you live
European Union, EEA, UK and Switzerland
The GDPR, the UK GDPR and Switzerland’s FADP apply. You have every right above, including portability and the right to complain to your local supervisory authority — the one in the country where you live or work, or ours, in Romania: Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (ANSPDCP).
United States
Under the CCPA/CPRA (California) and other state laws (Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas and others): we collect one category, identifiers (your email address), for the purposes above. We don’t sell or share personal information and don’t use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of; we honour Global Privacy Control signals all the same. You can ask to know, correct and delete, or appeal a refusal, by writing to us, yourself or through an authorised agent. Our emails follow CAN-SPAM: they say who sent them and carry an unsubscribe link we honour.
China
Under the Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL) we process your address only with your consent, and send it abroad only with your separate consent (see “Across borders”). You can see, copy, correct and delete it, withdraw consent, and ask us to explain these rules, by writing to [email protected].
Canada
Under PIPEDA you can see and correct what we hold. Under CASL we email you only with your express consent, name ourselves in every email and honour unsubscribes within 10 business days — in practice, at once.
Brazil
Under the LGPD you can confirm we process your data, see, correct, anonymise, port and delete it, learn whom we share it with, and withdraw consent. Our contact for the ANPD and for you is [email protected].
Everywhere else
Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore, South Africa and other countries have their own privacy laws. We give everyone the rights on this page, whatever their local law says.
Children
The update list is for adults working with data. Don’t sign up if you are under 16 (under 14 in China). If we learn a child signed up, we delete the address.
Security
Data travels encrypted (TLS). The database is closed to the public and reachable only by our server. Confirmation links are single-purpose random tokens, and we store only their hashes.
Changes
If we change this page, we update the date at the top. If a change affects what you agreed to, we ask for your consent again before it applies to you.
